Units
Train units on the Army screen. Forts and town centers set how many units you can house and how many can train at once. Each unit has attack and defense points used in battle, an upkeep cost each month, and (for most units) weapons or resources required to train.
Archer

Maceman

Trained Peasant
- Role: Very weak, but trains fast and needs no weapons.

Pikeman
- Role: Anti-cavalry infantry with solid all-around stats.

Crossbowman
- Role: Ranged unit that hits swordsmen hard.

- Bonus: +3 vs Swordsman
Catapult
- Role: Siege unit that demolishes buildings and can kill army or population. Only catapults defend against other catapults. Limited by town centers.

Thief
- Role: Steal information, poison water, burn buildings, or steal goods. Only thieves defend against thief attacks. Limited by town centers.

Tower
- Role: Not a trainable unit — a defensive building. Cannot attack; used only for defense.
